A sellout crowd of over 170,000 fans witnessed an amazing weekend of V8 Supercar action across three exciting days at the all new street circuit event in the centre of the city of Hamilton in New Zealand. The successful inaugural event was the first one of two international ?fly-away? events on the 2008 Australian V8 Supercars Championship calendar.
Team BOC Summary:
Pilot of the Team BOC #12 car Andrew Jones progressed very well after an eventful weekend ultimately finishing the final race in P9 (position 9).
Variable weather conditions in Qualifying, the ensuing traffic jam for track position and a red flag for the Jamie Whincup crash trapped Andrew into a lower than expected grid position.
Race 1 was initially chaotic with major incidents on lap 1 in both turns 1 & 2. Andrew was able to avoid the trouble.
Late in the race, on lap 24 of 36, unfortunately a small brake issue resulted in contact with the tyre bundles and awkward kerbing at the already notorious turn 4 chicane. His wild two-wheel ride was graphically captured by Seven?s cameras and beamed around the world.
Andrew then pitted twice to repair for the resultant damage and finished 22nd.
In race 2, Andrew did a great job of progressing through the field to finish 15th after a tight battle with the legendary former series Champion and Bathurst Winner, Craig Lowndes.
Race 3 was another gritty and smart drive. Andrew again avoided all the trouble that triggered three Safety Car interventions to move inside the Top 10 finishing 9th between Steven Johnson and Russell Ingall.

Quote & Summary:
?If you asked me one year ago would I be pleased to see both drivers regularly racing inside the Top 10 the answer would be an emphatic yes! Well, it?s happening thanks to our off-season restructure but I?m hungry for more. We?re often making our presence felt at the right end of the field with both cars at different stages of the weekend. Now we need to do that consistently and despite the complexity of the task I?m confident of progressing to that next level.?

Qualifying, Race & Round Results, Hamilton NZ:
Qualifying 14th, Race 1 22nd, Race 2 15th, Race 3 9th, Round 3 Overall 13th
Quote: ? My weekend featured the typical highs and lows of racing. It was fantastic to know my Team BOC car was as high as P3 (position 3) in one session but the tricky traffic, weather, the wild nature of street circuits and some minor brake issues interfered with the ideal result. That said, in Race 3 my team and I worked back to 9th. It was a great outcome considering the challenges. And how about that wild two wheel ride? There?s one for the media!
The potential for really great results rests at our fingertips... and I?m determined to deliver.?
Current Championship Position & Points: 20th 292 pts.
