Team BOC had a successful day at the V8 Supercar?s Championship opening test day held at the Winton Raceway in Country Victoria. The Team BOC Commodore had been put through its initial shake down last Saturday and followed that up with a strong day of testing. Any newly built chassis takes some time to set up. The crew worked on scheduled spring changes in the rear and roll centre with the car suffering from rear brake lock ups during the early part of the day. The team worked through their schedule of set up changes and overall the brand new car?s performance was good finishing the morning session 5th fastest. Much of the afternoon session was spent focusing on the brake package with the team finding a set up late in the day that produced good results. Overall, Jason Richards completed a total of 123 laps for the day, finishing with the 9th fastest time for the day.

Brad Jones, Team Owner:
?We?ve had a few teething problems with the Team BOC car, we?ve been struggling with the electrics in the car a little bit and getting the telemetry back to the pits and down loading the data. Engineer Matt Boniface has been trying to get on top of it but we think it?s a problem we?ll have to go back and sort out at the workshop .For that reason we chose not to use any green tyres today on the Team BOC car. That being said, due to the hot conditions today they?ve struggled a bit to make progress, sometimes you have one of those days, they?ve tried a heap of things but just not sure what?s good and what?s not so there?s a lot of data to go through tomorrow to find a set up we?re happy with to open the batting at Abu Dhabi.?
Jason Richards , Driver:
?We learned a few things today which was good obviously. We concentrated on the braking package and not so much the set up. We felt that was a weakness last year and right at the end of the day we finally made the step that took us to a place where we?ve been working hard to get. It all effects the chassis balance and it just happened so late in the day so it left a few unanswered questions. General feel of the car is very good, the new engine felt extremely good. The team has done very well over the xmas break. I?m looking forward now to competing with everyone else over at Abu Dhabi.?
