Practice time-sheets may not show it but Jason Richards says Team BOC is in good shape for tomorrow?s race at Symmons Plains.
The crew saved its green tyres for qualifying and was running comfortably inside the top ten before other teams switched to new rubber, when Richards slipped to 20th.
Historically the Tassie circuit has not been Richards' best but he believes the BJR Commodore is one of the most balanced cars he has taken there. Qualifying begins tomorrow at 11.20am.
?Five minutes from the end of the session we were still P7 so it wasn?t until the rush of new tyres that we got knocked down. We didn?t run green tyres, so I think we?re pretty competitive.
?We experimented with a couple of different set-ups to see what worked the best and they both produced the same lap times. Both have their strengths and weaknesses; it?s just a matter of working out which is going to be best. There?s a lot to think about tonight but in general we?re in much better shape than we were last year in Tasmania.?
