Another lap-one incident cost Jason Bright a top ten finish today as he scrambled to avoid stranded cars at Albert Park.
Michael Patrizi and Greg Murphy span in front of the Team BOC Commodore, forcing him to take evasive action. From P17 on the grid he fell to the back of the field and had to use up his faster soft-compound tyres re-passing back-markers.
After his penultimate-lap pitstop Brighty had a burst of speed and passed two cars on the last lap to finish 14th despite damage he sustained in the lap-one incident.
V8 Supercars will return to the track in Tasmania from 30 March to 1 April.
"I guess if you sleep with dogs you get fleas, but that just about sums up my weekend.
"There was a crash in front of me on lap one and I had to go onto the grass to miss it. We lost some positions and copped some damage to the headlights and splitter but got through it. After that we were behind a few guys we didn't want to be and just lost too much time in getting past them. The race was pretty stuffed after that.
"It certainly wasn't an ideal weekend because of the crash and we were compromised with tyres after losing a set in the crash. We were always on the back foot but I think we learned a lot. I think we can go to Tassie and expect to be somewhere near the money."
