Topping the times in today's third practice at Sydney Olympic Park Street Track was a great start to V8 Supercars' last event of the year for Jason Bright.
The Team BOC driver, who has had two podiums at the notoriously brutal circuit, dropped to ninth overall by the end of the day after abandoning his fast lap in the final session.
V8 Supercars will be on track from 9.25 tomorrow for qualifying before the 74-lap race at 15.05.
"I am happy with ninth but I know we could have done better. I came unstuck down the back of the circuit in that last session, which prevented me from completing another fast lap. I think we could have been around third if we'd nailed it.
"This street race produces crazy things because it's not hard to make a mistake here. I was finding it pretty hard to get to grips with it in the early sessions and made a load of mistakes but I think everyone was in the same boat.
"There are a couple of corners that are pretty tricky and, over the last couple of years, you've seen the track wreck people's hopes. I'm hoping to end the year on a high, fingers crossed!"
