Jason Bright has hailed Saturday's test day a success for Team BOC after finishing 7th at Sydney's Motorsport Park.
It was a day of mixed conditions with rain affecting much of the two sessions but Bright said he was comfortable throughout.
"The car was competitive all day," he said.
"We got a lot of stuff done that we needed to and every time we had a crack we popped up to the top of the timesheet."
With the opening round just 10 days away - the Clipsal 500 was on Bright's mind throughout the test.
"I can't wait for Adelaide now," he said.
"The guys have done a pretty good job and the cars have run faultessly."
For Team BOC engineer Andrew Edwards, conditions masked the true speed of the car.
"I think we're pretty strong actually," he said.
"We didn't really get to show it with a green run somewhere but we're pretty happy with the car's ultimate pace," said Edwards.
The Clipsal 500 in Adelaide starts on February 27.
