The clouds opened up early at the Symmons Plains Raceway drenching the first of two 1 hour sessions in rain from start to finish. The final five minutes of the first session saw the fastest times of the session with the lead changing by the second! Jason jumped into 1st position in the final moments of session before narrowly being shuffled down the order into 4th. The second session was a cool yet dry run out, with the drivers getting back to the quick lap times they are used to. The only issue for the Team BOC VF Commodore being minor braking issues. With not even a second separating the Top 20, the competitiveness is still as close as ever.

“We tried a few different things today to make the most of our practice sessions.”

“We had pretty good pace this morning in the wet but it’s a totally different ball game in the dry so we just need to work a bit on our braking, get on top of it and it will be good”

“It’s hard to pick what the weather will do this weekend, it wasn’t meant to rain like it did today so we’ll see what it does tomorrow. Hopefully we’re in for a dry weekend.”

“At the moment we need to work on our braking. It’s hard to know what quality tyres everyone has at the moment so it can be difficult to gauge where you really are relative to the rest of the field. What we are going to do is concentrate on working on what we know we can improve on. The weather was a good challenge today, a chance to test our speed in both conditions.” - Car 8 Engineer Paul Scalzo
