It was a frustrating end to Team BOC’s Phillip Island SuperSprint campaign. After starting the weekend at the pointy end of the timesheets, Jason found himself circulating at the back today after copping a pit lane penalty early for an unsafe release during his first pit stop, only minutes into the race. The team had the strategy to push Jason through the field and he was happy with the cars pace. Team Boss Brad Jones said the car had the potential to finish in the top ten, but today it finished in 23rd position. With one round left to go, the team are looking to repeat their last year’s efforts at Homebush and get their way back to the front.
“The car felt good today, we copped the penalty for an unsafe release which really hurt us today. Considering yesterday’s penalty, I think today’s consequence was a little harsh. It was disappointing but that’s the rules. I tried to address it by going back at least two pit bay positions but because we touched that’s the price we paid.”
“The car was much better today. Even though we were being caught by the leaders there and considering we were on yesterday’s tyres for that whole last stint, I thought our pace was good. Hopefully we can improve for the final event at Homebush as it’s been a couple of frustrating rounds.”
