THE WORD FROM BRIGHTY
The first race was very short lived for Jason today. Rolling starts have always been interesting in the past, with everyone pushing hard into corner one, and today it resulted in disaster for Team BOC. Going into the first corner of the first lap Jason was pushed sideways by Scott Pye; the hit resulting in broken steering and front splitter. The result put the Team BOC crew to work to repair the damage so he could get back out for the second race. The DNF meant Jason had to start from the rear of the field and work his way forward. The track is not known for being conducive to passing so race two was a tough one, but Jason worked his way up a number of positions to finish in 21st.
JASON - “We did a really good job yesterday so to start off today by getting run into at turn one on lap one was not ideal. We went straight to the back and it’s a tough slog to work your way through from there. Starting from the rear in the second race your dealing with dirty air and it’s hard to pass. You do your best to work your way forward but it’s tough. With no pit stops you can’t work on any kind of strategy so you’re stuck where you are and it can be frustrating. Especially when you have great pace and should be at the pointy end of the field.”
