Sunday 20th March
12:20-12:50 - Race Four
Position: 17th / Winner: Shane Van Gisbergen
The luck was finally changing for Team BOC’s final race here at Albert Park. Jason started from the rear of the field in 26th position. He got a brilliant start, making his way up to position 20 by the end of lap one, and continued to make a move through the field, gaining spots on each lap. He was putting on a great show for the fans as his battle towards the front was a highlight of the race. Jason eventually made his way up to position 17 over the 12 lap race, a brilliant effort to finish off an otherwise forgetful weekend.
“For me everything after qualifying was a disaster, I’ve looked at the in-car camera stuff from the first race and I feel like everyone jumped at the first corner and there wasn’t enough space for everyone to get through. One of the drivers has taken out Jason Bright as the result, it has ruined Team BOC’s weekend. You look at Mark Winterbottom who also qualified in the top 6 and got turned around in the first race, he’s still mid-pack three races later as well. Brighty had the potential to be in the top 5 all weekend. It’s really unfortunate but we’ve shown that we have really good speed in the car which is good. We’re looking forward to getting to Tasmania and getting a result.”
