Only two hundredths of a second came between Jason Bright and a front row start for today’s 200km race. He took the Team BOC Commodore to 6th for qualifying, in what was another super close qualifying session. The conditions again were bright and sunny here at Symmons Plains and after an action packed race yesterday, it was today’s first laps and final laps that turned on the show. With an early safety car on lap 4, all teams dived into pit lane, causing many cars to double stack. The final laps saw Cameron Waters entry have engine dramas, spilling oil onto the hairpin. A number of cars found the oil, putting them into the sandtrap. Jason was consistent again throughout the race, finishing in 10th and keeping the Team BOC Commodore in the top ten all weekend. A super solid effort from Brighty and Team BOC.
“I didn’t feel like we had the best day, but we still finished in the top ten and are sitting 8th in the championship.”
“I didn’t feel like we had as much pace as we did yesterday and seemed to be using the tyres more. We had made a few small changes and it was a harder car to drive today, sometimes that’s just the way it works but it was a learning experience as always. It gives us a feel for what can upset the car so we know that going into Phillip Island and should hit the ground running and continue the good momentum we’ve got.”
