The Team BOC and Brad Jones Racing crew worked until almost 1am to repair the damage from yesterday’s race one, lap one crash. The team was luckily able to complete the repairs at the circuit. If there had of been major chassis damage it could have been a disastrous outcome to the entire race weekend. Jason Bright commended the teams’ efforts to get the car ready for today’s two final races at Pukekohe. Jason qualified in the top 20 for the two 100 kilometre races. After contact off the start line, the steering was damaged on the Team BOC Commodore which made it a difficult race for Jason and he finished in 16th position. The battle pack was fierce again in the final race, and Brighty suffered more contact which hurt the steering and rear of the car. He kept focused and steady to bring the Team BOC Commodore home in 19th position. Whilst we weren’t able to take home the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy, it was a highlight for Team Owner Kim Jones to hand the trophy over to the winning driver today and honour the great ‘JR’. Team BOC would like to thank all the fans and supporters for their outpour of support and well wishes over the last 24 hours, it has truly been fantastic.

BRAD “The team have done an amazing job to repair the car overnight. I knew they would get it done, but they worked so hard and had it done in quite a reasonable time.”

“Then for Bright to pop up in 14th after the first qualifying session was really good. Overall, it has been a very tough weekend for us. The car has shown glimmers of great pace throughout the sessions but really it has boiled down to qualifying and we couldn’t deliver today. This weekend means so much to the team and it was unfortunate we couldn’t put on a better show for our mate, the great Jason Richards.”
