BOC, the longest current naming rights team sponsor in Supercars and third longest in Supercars history, will be continuing their support of Brad Jones Racing in a lesser capacity from 2017 and beyond.
Supercar fans are well aware of the international brand - BOC, and their gas, welding, safety and industrial equipment. The relationship between BOC and Brad Jones Racing extends far beyond just Supercars, as BOC were proud sponsors of the Jones Brothers back in their Super Touring days.
BOC had their first taste in Supercars in 2004 with Andrew Jones, when they sponsored his car in his Dunlop Series Championship winning year. At Adelaide in 2005, BOC debuted their colors on the two BA Ford Falcons of Brad Jones and John Bowe and Team BOC has been a household name ever since.
It is a naming rights relationship that has lasted for over 12 years in Supercars, and will go down in history as one of the longest and proudest team partnerships.
There are many memorable moments for Team BOC over the years. Team BOC drivers Jason Richards & Cameron McConville took Team BOC to the Bathurst podium in 2009, Jason Bright delivered the teams’ first win in Perth in 2011 and won the inaugural Jason Richards trophy in 2013.
Team Boss Brad Jones “It will be very different not seeing the Team BOC car on the grid in 2017. It has been such a rewarding relationship; BOC have been side by side with us over 12 fantastic years in Supercars.”
“It is not the end of this relationship by any means, BOC will continue to support us in 2017 and beyond; so you will still see BOC on our cars and you’ll see their products in our workshop and at the race track.”
Bruce Currie, Head of Sales and Marketing, BOC, is looking forward to the 2017 season. "While we will no longer be a naming sponsor in Supercars in 2017 we are very pleased to continue working with and supporting Brad Jones Racing and their team," said Bruce.
“BOC is very proud of our long association with Supercars and Brad Jones Racing and we look forward to the teams' ongoing success on the racetrack in 2017."
